Laser Tag

Tagger Operations

2 Basic modes you need to know about:

1.  Player Mode - turn the key, this should be the default (unless gun was previously in ref mode). Hold the trigger down to start up this mode.

2.  Ref Mode – press and hold the RED button, turn the key, and hold until sensor starts blinking. DO NOT TURN OFF TAGGER WHILE IT IS LOADING THIS MODE - Once you’re on the desired mode, pull the trigger to select, then use the black button to advance through the menu.

Blinking Sensors: When sensors are blinking on any tagger, take this as a warning sign. DO NOT TURN OFF THE TAGGER WHEN A SENSOR IS BLINKING. If the tagger is turned off while the sensor is blinking, it will wipe the tagger of all memory and turn it into a paper weight.

Once inside any menu, here is what the buttons do:

•   Trigger = like pressing “enter” on a keyboard

•   Black Button = when in a menu it’s used to advance UP

•   Red Button = when in a menu it’s used to advance DOWN

Once inside Ref menu, here is what the commands do:

-       RF Cmds: Commands that affect all operating taggers in the immediate area

-       RF Clone: Clone all operating taggers in immediate area.

A=Sport1 means clone all taggers that are on the alpha team to sport mode 1.
B=Sport1 means clone all taggers that are on the bravo team to sport mode 1.
*=Sport1 means clone all taggers regardless of team to sport mode 1.

-       IR Cmds: Commands that affect one tagger. Ref Tagger must be pointed at a sensor of the tagger receiving a command.

-       IR Clone: Clone one tagger. Ref tagger must be pointed at a sensor of the tagger being cloned.

-       IR ChgTm: Change one tagger to a different team. Ref tagger must be pointed at a sensor of the tagger whose team is being changed.

-       Referee Coms Cfg: DO NOT CHANGE

-       Run Editor: DO NOT TURN OFF TAGGER WHILE SENSOR IS BLINKING. Set BootMode determines which game type (sport mode 1-3) is being edited. Edit Game, Edit Weapon, and Edit Globals are all covered in the “settings section” below. Do not edit Player ID, Globals or run Factory Reset. Run Referee and Run Player send the tagger to those respective modes.

Cloning Teams

It is necessary to clone teams after you adjust the settings in the referee tagger. In Referee mode there is a command called “Referee RF Clone” that you need to select. Once in the command, press the black button to skip “RF Chan 00” and your screen will be on “RF Clone A=Sport1”. This can be done for both teams by selecting the proceeding commands. If you have edited sport mode 2 or 3, be sure to continue pressing the black button until you’ve reached these options (press the black button to cycle through team B, C, and D).

  In order to clone individuals:

·   Hold the ref tagger 6 inches away from each individuals head sensors and pull the trigger for 1 second.   It will make a noise when the clone is accepted.

·   Change to “RF Clone B=Sport1” and repeat step 1 for the second team.

·   Once each individual is cloned, all players need to squeeze hold down their trigger to activate their tagger.

•            While first set is charging, begin putting away the rest of the equipment.

•            Once the first taggers are charged, begin charging the second set of taggers.

Charging Taggers

·      We have 35 taggers and 18 chargers

·      Taggers should be switched OFF while charging

·      There is a switch on the charger to toggle between 1 & 2.  When placed on 2, it takes about 40 minutes to fully charge one tagger.

·      The light on top will be RED while charging and turn GREEN once the tagger is fully charged.
